Apparently we are close to signing Tonny Vilhena from Feyenoord for 12 million. He is a 21 year old Dutch playmaker who can play on the wing too. Southampton want him but apparently we have got him.

Feel Van Aanholt should be dropped and get Alonso in now. We need to act now before other teams get quality and were left with Bargain basement players. Van Aanholt's confidence was shot down by comments by Jamie Carragher. Feel he need time on the bench for a few games. We the fans should own the club we would show ambition.

Ed there's a rumour going around that DA wants to leave as he's not getting the backing from Short over promised signings and going by the pre season Pound land mentality there's a hint of truth it that! if that is true then Short should surely think about his position at this club!

We have to invest heavily now. We can get a return on the TV deal so this season is huge for us. Go for Hernandez and Austin and offer them big money. This is what Short must do. We would get a return on wage as for the deal. Tell them they would be our main players for the season and would be huge for us. But Marcus Alonso and De sciglio on loan if we can and get Fabian Schar an offer him good money and get Jonny Evans and try and get januzaj on loan and a solid midfielder. Ellis you must invest is similar quality players at least try and offer good money and persuade them. If you don't invest your an idiot Mr Short. Lol

Agree with you both completely! But I don't even know if Van Aanholt would cut it further up, he has no heart at all. It's embarrassing! Need another left back sharpish, he looks like he knows he won't be dropped as there's no one else! Jones 1st choice rb? Shouldn't of bought Matthews in should of brought in better so Jones was a squad player! Coates awful said it when we were linked he was a waste, squad/cup player at best! Kaboul average at best, reason he hasn't had a game at Tottenham for so long. Need some creativity, if we played 4-2-3-1 with Cattermole and M'Vila as the two with Lens left we need a number 10 and striker that can do the job on his own and also a right winger!
I'd happily see Austin or Hernandez come in, we HAVE to pay up and get them in. I'd rather pay money for someone like Matt Phillips than get Januzaj in on loan. We need to fork out for a 10 Dembele could fit in there as playing him as a holding midfielder is out of position, destroyed Utd few season ago playing 10, he has more freedom. Rather see Ron Vlaar come in on a free than either of the two centre halves we have. Fork out and get Van Dijk in, even Evans would improve us. I'd also take Ashley Cole on a free as completion. Rather have Alonso though. Get a RB in Sam Byram? I'd even have Jon Flannagen on loan.

That was appaling agree something deeply wrong at this club and if Short can't see it he needs to go now!. Kaboul makes Oshea look like world class . DA has to take some responsibility with the team selection as he should have dropped Kaboul and put Oshea in even brown would have been better!! put the entire U21 team in and drop this shambles of a team!!

Realistically that will never happen. Though we should have a team like that now, if not better considering the substantial amount of money which has been spent since Shorts arrival (£250m). I would expect if Short took note of the problems, he'd look for at least £30m free to spend now.

These team is more than achievable if the supposed £50m was the budget at the beginning of the window, because we have only spent £15m and recouped £9m of that. That should leave £44m but £8m from Alvarez maybe, leaves us with nothing to worry about! Though we all know we probably didn't have that substantial budget to start off with, boy do we need it now

Well that result was dreadful. Outplayed, outclassed, no tactics. Nothing. General lack of effort and lack of quality. Moyes has no club he's out of his depth, he's finished but if he goes who do we bring in? Short needs to go he's dragged this club down to the rock bottom and a lot of the staff need clearing out. What does Bracewell do. He obviously doesn't prepare the players for the game as yday was clearly shown. If you look at SAFC social media you see the players messing about and playing footy tennis. Absolute disgraceful this, they don't care and they are simply crap football player. Major clear out needed top to bottom. So sad to see how far down this idiot Short has dragged us.

No the greatest deadline day but we are an unattractive place. Thank God we did not get nzogbia he can even get in the villa team and he's on canny wages. Must say Sam did a decent job getting rid of the
deadwood fletch to Marseille is riduculous but I don't care as long as they pay his wages. In the summer a big chunk of the squad is out of contract and we aren't going to renew it which hopefully means we can start again regardless of which league and build a stronger better team. This has been going on for years and we need to get rid of the deadwood. Hopefully with a fresh squad in the summer we can come up if we go to the championship which I do believe will happen and we can turn into what Stoke are now.

Kemar Roofe of Oxford looks a really good player got a few against Swansea and now 2 agains Millwall in first half. Watching the game he looks really good albeit he plays for league 2. Worth a look at.

Business not over I hope. We need number 9 striker with Defoe and a number 10 midfielder. We need a a defensive overhaul. Van Dijk was pretty bad against Malmo though. I see our u21s beat the likes of Tottenham and get good results against the top clubs u21s so there is talent there. We must develop it or it will be pointless having the paid coaches there. I also saw and article saying we should send out scouts to Barcelona Madric and Bayern and the top teams and take players from there. Not messi and ronaldo of course but young talent. These clubs have great hungry talents in their academy and they may never get in their first team due to their clubs spending dollar. Adam Traore looks decent. He wants to take players on. Bojan from Barça ETC we have players in our academy like that too. Out scouting network is appalling and we need to scout right players not players like Kaboul for example. Sack the scouts and send new one's to Barça, Real Madrid training ground. Also sack the coaches who can't develop and get one's who can.

After last nights match the scouting is not the only thing that's appalling its our abject defence! the whole back four was terrible . if we can't defend against a league 2 side like Exeter what's it going to be like against the likes of Man City , Manchester United and Chelsea! Its all very well wanting these players but is Ellis Short going to get is dosh out? with rumours that De Guzman my not come because of DA thinking of leaving because of the lack of transfer funds! doesn't auger well for the team and this club! and why wasn't Giacherini not playing last night??

When will the club learn that signing players on free transfers and for small amounts of money (1-3 million) are just going to be deadwood. These players we sign should not be on high wages but the club offer them sky high wages and the board scratch their heads. If we pay off their contracts we will bring in more deadwood. Rare chance that bargains come good. We will never learn.

They had to give them the stupidly high wages or they wouldn't have came in the first place. That should have been the first warning sign. Too many mercs after a pay day at the end of their careers along with a bunch of never been good enough's who still think they are. We don't have the financial ability to change anything now, not till half our team is gone & then with the firm hope that bunch of morons don't infect the few good players we actually have.

If the reports in this morning's news papers are true then we needn't worry about spending so little on more deadwood moneygrabbers it seems that the club is skint! As much as I hate to say it our club is pretty much in desperate straights,this will take years to put right and relegation seems inevitable,to be honest from what I.'ve seen over the last three season's of struggle we wouldn't make the top ten in the championship!Dark days ahead for all fans of the club

I would bring in Gary rowett if he is sacked which I don't know will happen because was can't afford to sack him. The team needs to take responsibility it's one of the worst teams I've seen in the prem. The owner has been to naive and gave money to absolute idiots. I've accepted that we are down as there are no teams worse then us. I don't know where out next win is coming from. I would bet rowett and build for the championship. He knows the league very well and did well with no money and burton and Birmingham. He'll have a little bit to spend and we'll be an attractive option for top championship players. Hopefully we won't go down but if we down hopefully we voice straight back. Moyes is finished.

Totally agree Coates and Kaboul are not good enough they are too slow and make schoolboy defending. I fear Exeter will batter us with our defence. Ellis has to go in his pocket and buy quality not bargain sh** actual quality which rarely happens. Players like Austin, Like Hernandez. Like Dembele ETC buy these players along with others and we will do better. They may not want to come but offer them money we wouldn't usually as its desperation as for the TV deal which we need.
Of course altidore will stay just give him time to settle man we hardly have any strikers I think he will have a good season stop slagging him off

Afobe is a good shout. There is a lo of talent in championship and lower leagues. They go for quite cheap too but Austin and Afobe may go for a bit. Nick Blackman who went to derby looked decent. Been in championship but did well.
