Right, who are we going to sell Altidore to? I bloody hope he has a good world cup.

Totali Di Loodaid Jordis

1.) I still think he could turn out to be a decent player for us.

His confidence has been shot this year playing in a poor side that couldn't score goals. He's still young but he's got all the attributes and he's shown he can score at the highest level regularly for the USA.

Get a good pre-season under his belt and it could still be £6m well spent.

2.) I agree, Jozy will come good for us, he must be playing with no confidence due to all the abuse he gets from crowd, he scores great goals for USA so hopefully he can start to do for us next season, if he is sold then good luck to him, it just did'nt work out.
If he stays let's get behind him next season. personally I would sell Fletcher. never fit and always looks like he wants to be somewhere else when he does play. if we get 8 million for him buy Borini. no brainer

3.) Also agree. Has had a bad season but shows promise, especially holding up the ball and being a big pain in the ass for defenders. All he needs is goals which he has previous. Fletcher not interested and limited in ability. Borini is the key!

4.) I'd keep Altidore, I think it could have been a very different season for him if his goal against Arsenal wasn't wrongly disallowed. Holds the ball up well, has a great touch for a big lad - remember the flick through for Colback when AJ scored against Newcastle. He also won a very important penalty against Chelsea. If we were prepared to persist with Whickham then I see no reaon why we won't do the same with Alts.

5.) Im sorry largey but when you say abuse from the crowd, are you sure? I go home and away and I think the fans have been unbelievably patient with him, sure there's a bit of a laugh about some of his missed sitters but he has a song in his honour and its regular sung in humour away from home, but abuse. I don't think so. Fans of this club will always appreciate tryers hence why so many players get good receptions when they come back, its the gutless lazy ones that rightly get the abuse.

6.) So you think hearing " If Jozy scores we're on the p###" and cheering ironically when he wins a header is going to encourage him to better things then you're deluded I know he falls short of what we hope for in a striker but frankly l'm embarrassed to call myself a supporter when I hear stuff like that.

When they read the team sheet out last night I was very surprised. Three centre halves, two holding midfield players and two big strikers. No danger of pretty football with that lineup.

My views after the match -
Virgini can't kick straight.
Cattermole can't kick the ball at all (see first goal)
Wickham might score a goal but Altidore never will
We looked a whole lot better when we brought some football players on.

Ive just booked a parking space on someones drive in north London. i'm about to write to my youngest sons school to explain why he won't be there on monday - well we do live in Barcelona after all.

We are in a cup final. We are massive underdogs but we can do this. Come on sunderland, come on, come on.

Quiet on here innit?

Altidore or Scocco?

Bridcutt or Cattermole?

I think the rest of the team picks itself?

{Ed024's Note - Cup game so Cattermole and Scocco for me.}

What a match. What drama. I never hugged so many complete strangers in my life. Sunderland deservedly reach a cup final and the 9000 who took the atmosphere to old trafford were awesome. Crazy season this is.

He is attracting a lot of attention by all accounts. Celtic would sell for that sort of money but others would probably be in for him.

Invest in Africa was set up bu Tullow Oil to improve their very dodgy image. No other company would invest in the fund and Sunderland became concerned about bad publicity when Tullow were taken to court in Uganda on bribery and environmental damage charges. Both parties walked away from the deal which was supposed to be worth £20 million a season - that's 20 times what Tombola was worth.

Bidvest are also an African company but you'd have to sell a lot of shirts to make £20 million.

Ive heard quite a few comments like '14 players and most aren't good enough for the Premiership'. I don't get it, we've barely seen anything of most of them. Who exactly isn't good enough and why do you think that?

I think the players we brought in in January have done pretty well, but its hard to think of a player brought in over the previous three seasons who actually improved the team. Johnson, Rodwell and Fletcher never justified the price tag, and we took far too long to sign decent defenders to replace the ancient ones we had.

At the start of the season I looked up some figures on cash turnover and money spent on transfers. If that translated into a league position we would be seventh or eighth.

Yes I know the editor you mean. It's a realshame because I'd like to know what others think. In my opinion we have been playing well and I can't beleive how few points we have picked up.

Deadwood is a completely justified description of the hard core of senior players at Sunderland - they had our respect and they lost it. We don't expect success by right but we do expect committment and professionalism from the players whose wages we pay. They have not delivered this.

Calling 'One Gary Rowell' a deadwood supporter is blatant hypocracy and merits an appology from Ed002

Totali Di Loodaid Jordis

{Ed002's Note - Fortunately not all of the supporters are disrespectful cretins like you and "One Gary Rowell". Perhaps they could recruit some replacement supporters in the January window.}
